Climbing training for beginners

The step from indoor climbing to rock climbing is relatively big, especially for children, and suddenly there are no more colourful climbing holds to show the way! The deflections are partly different to operate and the hook distance is not standardized. In this course you will learn the basics for rock climbing. 3 different climbing gardens are available in Weißbach near the valley or on the Waidriger Steinplatte.

Fixed rope route day on the Höhenburg near the Moserboden reservoirs in Kaprun

Meeting place: 9.30 o'clock at the cash desk Kesselfall in Kaprun
Duration: approx. 4 hours*
€ 55,- for adults |€ 47,- for children

Climbing in the via ferrata arena Höhenburg with its various via ferrata and sport climbing possibilities for children and adults is certainly one of the holiday highlights in the region.

Three via ferrata with different degrees of difficulty were drilled into the rock of the historic Höhenburg. In the "Limberg-Zwerg" via ferrata even the well-preserved iron ladders of the former high mountain school were integrated. In this easy via ferrata, the key section called "Dwarf Ladder" with difficulty C is waiting to be mastered.

If desired, we can of course also climb the Mobo 107 via ferrata over the Mooserboden dam. An absolute highlight!

Video Mobo 107

All three trails end at the summit of the Höhenburg, which rises between the Drossen and Mooser dams. The camera should be in the luggage of every climber, because the fixed rope routes in the high alpine environment and with the high mountain reservoirs in the background are a unique backdrop for athletes and those seeking relaxation. The descent back to the dam wall is along the comfortable Höhenburg hiking trail.

*You will get the necessary equipment from us.

EVERY THURSDAY

Via ferrata training near the valley for everyone

Meeting place: 09.00 o'clock at the "Oafoch Guat" in Weißbach
Duration: approx. 3 hours*
€ 55,- for adults |€ 42,- for children
10% discount with the Sommercards

There are some beautiful via ferrata with various degrees of difficulty in the vicinity.

Even if the weather is not perfect, these routes can be used because some of them are very close to the valley.

The routes are not only suitable for adults. Children and teenagers will also have fun on the specially built via ferrata. For professionals, or those who want to become professionals, there are medium to extreme sport via ferrata available.

*You will get the necessary equipment from us.

EVERY THURSDAY OR FRIDAY

Hochkönig Tour

€ 60,- normal route to the Hochkönig
€ 100,- Hochkönig over the devil's holes
suitable for young people from 15 years

For the Hochkönig tour you need stable weather. We start at 6 am at the Arthurhaus in Mühlbach. The tour should not be underestimated! There are strenuous 9 kilometers with almost 1600 Hm in the ascent and the same in the descent. The normal walking time is about 5-6 hours to the Matrashaus and about 3,5-4 hours back to the Arthurhaus. The ascent to the gate column is still relatively easy. Then follows the steep ascent via the "Kniebeisser" to the plateau. The many passages in the impassable scree and sharp karst rock put your concentration to the test. Hiking poles help with the descent and on the snow. Of course you need enough to drink and something to eat. At the summit there is, thank God, the Matrashaus for a rest. A rain jacket, cap, gloves and sunglasses are a must in your rucksack.

The tour only takes place in safe weather conditions. Friday is available to us as an alternative date, or, in case of an overnight stay in the Matras House, as an additional day for the descent. Alternatively, the more challenging route via the Teufelslöcher (Devil's Holes) can be used to reach the Matrashaus at the summit of our highest mountain.

Every day of the week an exciting adventure
